Classic Legends is prepping up to begin deliveries of the dual-channel ABS unit equipped Jawa and Forty Two motorcycles. Both the motorcycles were launched back in March 2018 with a single-disc up front and a single-channel ABS unit. Addressing the customer feedback, the brand launched the dual-channel ABS equipped Jawa and Forty Two in December 2018. And, promised the buyers that the deliveries of these bikes will begin around August-September.
Anupam Thareja - co-founder - Classic Legends recently replied to a tweet that the brand has been meeting all the deadlines positively and the customers will soon see the dual-channel equipped Jawa and Forty-Two on the roads. The brand has been adhering to all the deadlines set earlier which hints at the possibility of the timely launch of Perak - a bobber styled motorcycle equipped with 334 cc motor.
Mechanically, both the motorcycles - Jawa & Forty Two are powered by the same single-cylinder 293 cc fuel-injected motor. The DOHC motor is capable of churning out 27 bhp of peak power and 28 Nm of peak torque. The liquid-cooled motor is linked to a 6-speed gearbox. While the Jawa gets retro styling, the Forty Two has a modern appeal to it.
The single-channel unit equipped motorcycles are priced at Rs. 1.64 lakhs (Jawa) and Rs. 1.55 lakhs (Forty Two). We expect the dual-channel ABS unit equipped motorcycles to come with a premium of at least Rs 10,000. This becomes crucial for the brand as the key rivals recently updated its products with dual-channel ABS. The key competitors are Royal Enfield Classic 350 (Rs. 1.39 lakhs), Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 (Rs. 1.50 lakhs) and Bajaj Dominar 400 (1.74 lakhs). Classic Legends also announced its exchange program in which customers can exchange their bike at Mahindra First Choice Wheels for a brand new Jawa or Forty Two.
