Jawa Perak was unveiled along with the Jawa Standard and Forty Two at the initial launch.
Price was also announced at the initial launch with a launch date a few months after that.
However, it is now ready for launch one year later.
Perak gets different styling, different engine from other Jawas.
It will be the only bobber at its price.
The Jawa Perak was unveiled along with the Jawa Standard and the Jawa Forty Two at their launch one year ago. The company even announced the Perak’s price, as Rs 1.89 lakh ex-showroom, and said that it would go on sale a few months after the launch of the other two models.
However, a year later, the Jawa Perak is finally ready for launch on November 15. To recap, the Perak follows a ‘bobber’ format, with a single seat and hidden rear suspension that makes the bike look like a hardtail.
It is powered by a slightly higher capacity engine compared to the other Jawa models, a liquid-cooled 334cc single-cylinder DOHC unit with 4 valves. Power and torque figures stand at 30bhp and 31Nm. The gearbox will be a six-speed one.
The brakes will consist of discs at both ends and will have dual-channel ABS. Spoke rims will be retained for the retro look with an 18-inch front rim and a 17 inch rear. The display motorcycle at the launch had Pirelli tyres on it – an upgrade from the MRFs that are available on the other Jawas.
We’re unsure if Jawa will stick to the year-old announced price of Rs 1.89 lakh, but we expect it to at least be the same figure as an introductory price. It is the only bobber at its price, and it will also be the most affordable bobber in the Indian market when it launches.
