The 7-seater Jeep Compass could launch in India sometime in 2021.
Jeep is now concentrating on rolling out the heavily updated Compass in 2020.
The wait for the launch of the 7-seater Jeep Compass in India could extend up to 2021 because Jeep is now focusing on beefing up the Compass to launch a heavily updated Jeep Compass in 2020. Therefore, the launch of the 7-seater Jeep Compass, known as Low-D, will not happen in 2020, as planned originally.
Jeep’s Ranjangaon plant is busy preparing the updated versions of the right-hand-drive Jeep Compass for the Indian and international markets by mid-2020. The updated Jeep Compass will now feature significant metal changes, a refurbished cabin, and the introduction of more equipment. The Jeep Compass will also come with a BSVI version of the 2.0L diesel engine along with the 1.4L turbo-petrol engines. It also plans to introduce more diesel automatic variants.
The 7-seater Jeep Compass, the Low-D, will resemble the updated Compass, as it does not envisage compromising with the Jeep DNA. The Low-D will also come with fantastic off-road capabilities. It could launch as a premium version of the 5-seater Jeep Compass.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk is the top Jeep Compass variant available today in the range of Rs 26.80 to 27.60 lakhs. The Jeep Low-D might start at these prices.
On its launch by 2021, the Jeep Low-D will directly compete with the 7-seat monocoque-bodied SUV models like Honda CR-V, Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace, and Skoda Kodiaq. It will also rival the ladder-frame models like Mahindra Alturas G4, Toyota Fortuner, and the Ford Endeavour.
One can also expect an exclusive small SUV from Jeep for the Indian market in the future.
