Jeep India will roll out the Black Pack edition of its popular model, Compass in the country, suggest media reports. The special edition version of Compass will be based on the Limited (O) variant and will get additional styling bits. With these changes, expect the Black Pack Limited Edition is expected to cost around Rs 15,000 more than the regular version. While it is just an estimate, official pricing will be revealed on the launch day.
As hinted by officials at Jeep India, the company intends to encash the popularity of its first made in India model by introducing new variants. Knowing that festive season has already begun in India, it is indeed the right time to launch this limited edition variant in the country. Among the new elements, the limited edition model will receive 17-inch gloss-finished alloy wheels and it will feature an all-black interior colour scheme in tandem with its exterior that will sport blackened outside rear view mirrors.
Jeep will offer the new Black pack version in three shades-Vocal white, Minimal Grey and Magnesio Grey colours. Mechanically, the Black Pack limited edition will be identical to the regular model. The standard Jeep Compass is currently available with two engine options-1.4-litre Multiair turbocharged petrol and 2.0-litre Multijet II turbocharged diesel. In terms of power, the petrol engine makes 162 bhp against top torque of 250 Nm and it can be had in two transmission options-6-speed manual and 7-speed DDCT dual-clutch auto box. On the other hand, the diesel engine puts out 173 PS along with 350 Nm. This engine is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional 4WD drivetrain.
