FCA Indian Automobiles Private Limited (FCAIPL), formerly known as Fiat Group Automobiles India, is geared up to launch its new four-wheeler SUV, the Jeep Compass, in India on July 31. The booking of this brand new four wheeler has already started since June 19 for a deposit of
Rs 50,000 only.
The 2017 Jeep Compass will be available in three different variants- Sport, Longitude and limited. On the outside, the Jeep Compass 2017 carries HID ( High-Intensity Discharge) headlamps with DRLs (daytime running lights), roof rails, black painted roof, LED tail lamps and 17-inch alloy wheels.
On the interior, the SUV carries certain exquisite features like the keyless entry, push button start, leather seat upholstery, dual-zone climate control, rear parking sensors with camera, 7.0-inch touch infotainment system along with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
The new Jeep Compass gets a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The 2.0-litre diesel engine can churn out a maximum power of 173 bhp and a peak torque of 350 Nm while the 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine can generate a maximum power of 162 bhp and a peak torque of 250 Nm. A 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual clutch transmission options are available with the engines.
For safety, the premium SUV gets ABS, EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution), traction control, six safety airbags, electronic stability control and cornering fog lamps. Other safety features like Roll Over Mitigation and Hill Start Assist control completes the safety front of the car.
When it comes to the pricing, the Jeep Compass is expected a carry a price tag starting from Rs. 15 lakh mainly due to high localisation level of 65% while the high-end variant may get a price tag of over Rs. 20 lakh.
