Jeep has revealed its plan for launching its new Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, in order to expand its lineup in India. For now Jeep has two products in its kitty for India, which are Wrangler unlimited and Grand Cherokee. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk model is the new member in the 2017 Grand Cherokee family. The Trailhawk is mainly the off road focussed version of the Grand Cherokee, and it looks identical with its elder sibling, however Jeep has given the SUV mild updates in order to retain its freshness.
The upcoming new Trailhawk will come powered by a 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine, that can churn out a maximum of 291 bhp of power and 353 Nm of peak torque. For brilliant performance the SUV will be equipped with a 8-speed automatic transmission system, that sends all the power to all the four wheels. It also features Quadra-Drive II 4x4 system with rear Electronic Limited Slip Differential (ELSD) which is carried forward from its elder brother. Additionally, the SUV is also equipped with Selec-Speed Control with Hill Ascent Control. Ofcourse a Jeep is always great at off roading and the lower front section of the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is removable, that helps to increase the approach angle from 29.8 degrees to 36.1 degrees. The suspension setup has been raised, and now it offers 10.8 inches of additional ground clearance.
Once you step inside you will be welcomed by the classy looking black themed interior with red contrast stitching on the leather seats. The company will upgrade the older 8.4-inch infotainment system in order to offer additional functions. On the outside, the upcoming Jeep will come with newly designed skid plates and an anti-glare hood decal, it also has a pair of tow hooks both in the front and in the rear as seen in the 75th anniversary models. You can expect the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk to be cheaper by 15-lakhs than its elder sibling the Grand Cherokee, which is priced from Rs 93.64 lakh to Rs 1.03 crore.
