June 2014 was 14% brighter for Yamaha India

Snapshot: Yamaha Motor India reported a 14% increase in its sales in Indian market this June over last year

In an otherwise slow time for the Indian automobile sector, Yamaha Motor India reported a 14.4% increase in its sales for the month of June this year over last year. Yamaha sold 40,666 units in June 2014 whereas it sold 35,561 units in June 2013.

Commenting on the sales figures, Mr. Roy Kurian, Vice President - Sales and Marketing, Yamaha Motor India said, “The month has ended on a positive note for us as we launched new variants under the FZ series - FZ Version 2.0 and FZ-S Version 2.0 yesterday. We have had other launches as well this year. However, Alpha, launched at the Auto Expo, continues to be a fundamental growth driver for us. This is indeed the reviving times for the industry as we have an industry-friendly and an absolute government at centre. With these developments, the positive sentiments have also started to grace the industry."
