Kawasaki KLX110 launched in India at INR 2.8 Lakh

Snapshot: This is not a road legal motorcycle and can only be ridden at the off-road tracks or elsewhere but not on roads

The Japanese motorcycle maker has just introduced its first entry-level off-road motorcycle, KLX 110 in the Indian market at a price of INR 2.8 Lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). For those who doesn’t know, this is not a road legal motorcycle and can only be ridden at the off-road tracks or elsewhere but not on roads. It propels a 112 cc air-cooled single-cylinder carbureted engine mated to a 5-speed transmission. For stall-free shifting, the motor is equipped with an automatic clutch that is mounted on a steel backbone frame.

The frame on KLX 110 is suspended by a 30 mm telescopic fork and a monoshock with 4.3 inch travel on both. Both the front and rear wheels are equipped with drum brakes and the wheels are shod with 2.50×14 and 3.00×12 tyres on the front and rear respectively. As being an off-road machine, it carries a tiny 3.8 litres of fuel tank and a good 8.5 inches (216 mm) of ground clearance. The kerb weight of 76kgs makes it favourable for off-roading. It measures 61.4 inches (1,560 mm) in length, 25.6 inches (650 mm) in width, 37.6 inches (955 mm) in height. We totally loved the bike and are happy to see that finally manufacturers are bring motorcycles like this into Indian market.
