The Kawasaki Ninja 300 ABS has been launched in India at Rs 2.98 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). One of the prominent additions to the Ninja 300 is the new anti-lock-braking system, which is being offered for the first time. There has been a massive reduction in price by 62,000 as compared to the previous version, courtesy heavy localisation. That said, the bike gets locally sourced body panels, tyres and wheels instead of components sourced from Thailand and Indonesian plants.

The new Ninja 300 ABS is available in two shades-lime green ebony and candy plasma blue. In addition, the company is also offering 3 years unlimited mileage warranty offer on some pre-bookings, though the offer will be discontinued without any prior intimation. On the styling front, the bike features Ninja ZX-10R inspired dual headlamps, MRF tyres, etc. The height has been lowered by 5mm and it gets slightly heavier by 7kg weighing around 179kg (kerb weight).

Power on the prowess comes from the same 296 cc, parallel-twin cylinder, 8 Valve, DOHC engine that has been tuned to put out 38 bhp at 11,000 rpm against 27 Nm of torque. The 296 cc engine comes linked to a six-speed unit. The Ninja 300 also features assist and slipper clutch that enables lighter clutch action and faster gear changes.

Suspension set up on the bike comprises 37 mm telescopic forks at front and monoshock absorbers at the rear. The new Kawasaki Ninja 300 ABS is based on the high tensile strength diamond frame and equips 290 mm front petal disc brakes with dual piston calipers and 220 mm petal disc brake, while the dual-channel ABS is now a standard provision. Priced competitively, the new Kawasaki Ninja 300 is the most affordable twin-cylinder bike in the country which squarely goes against YZF-R3 in the segment.
