Kawasaki India has launched the Ninja 650 ABS in Candy Plasma Blue colour at a sticker price of Rs. 5.33 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) in the country. The bookings are open and it will be sold in a limited numbers. With the introduction of new colour, the company will discontinue its existing Ninja 650 ABS in black. As far as technical specifications are concerned there are no changes. Besides this new addition the Ninja 650 ABS KRT edition, launched in 2017, is available for Rs. 5.49 Lakhs (Ex-showroom).
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director of India Kawasaki Motors said “We take a lot of pride in different colour combinations, though the green and black is our signature style. The Ninja 650 in black received a very good response in the Indian market. Now we are expecting the same for blue Ninja 650 ABS.” KRT is a special edition which has got inspired colour and graphics from Kawasaki Racing Team. The bike features a 41 mm telescopic front fork while the rear has a horizontal back-link with adjustable preload. As for the brakes, it has a 300 mm petal discs at the front and a single 220 mm disc handle at the rear. Both the brakes come with ABS as standard safety feature.
Kawasaki Ninja 650 ABS has a kerb weight of 196 kg, while the fuel tank capacity is 15 litres. The bikes is powered by a 649cc parallel twin DOHC engine with liquid cooling which generates maximum power of 67bhp at 8000rpm and peak torque of 65.7Nm at 6500rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed gearbox. The Ninja 650 ABS is challenged by the likes of Honda CBR 650F, Suzuki SFV650, Benelli TNT 600 GT and Yamaha FZ 07 in the Indian market.
