The Japanese manufacturer is doing well already in the middle weight segments bikes for now, but kawak’s has decided to add another beast to the grid, Vulcan S. This motorcycle will be the first Cruiser offering from the Japanese to the Indian motorcycle market. Vulcan S looks beastly and is powered by the same 649cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor that powers the Ninja 650, though the engine is slightly detuned for the Vulcan S that makes near 61bhp of power at 7500 rpm and 62 Nm of torque at 6600rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
As the bike will be brought in by CKD route in the country and will be assembled locally so it makes sense to price this vehicle around INR 6 lakhs. It will fight straight with Harley’s Street 750, Hyosung’s Aquila Pro and ST7, Triumph’s Bonneville and Ducati’s soon to be launched Scrambler. This Bike carries everything that is needed to be a successful product for Indian market. This bike comes with customizable seating position with adjustable foot pegs, seat height and handlebars what else would you need in a bike at this price? In the international market Vulcan S is offered in ABS and non-ABS versions and same is expected to hit the Indian market as well. Others products that Kawasaki is selling in India includes Ninja 650, Ninja 1000, entry-level performance Z250, Ninja 300, street-fighters ER-6n, Z800, Z1000, Supersport ZX-10R and last but not the least the two beast Hyperbikes ZX-14R, Ninja H2.
