Like we reported earlier, the Japanese motorcycle maker is planning to bring the much awaited Versys 650 in India. And report from a credible source suggests that the bike will be launched by December this year. The bike will be available only in a black or green colour and white colour will not be present as an option, says report.
The Versys 650 is the smaller sibling of the Versys 1000 that is present is the international market. Versys offers upright riding ergonomics for comfortable touring. It comes with wide seats, raised handle-bar and height-adjustable front wind-screen which makes it a perfect touring friendly motorcycle. It boasts a decent ground clearance of 170mm.
It runs on the same 649cc, parallel-twin, four-stroke, liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine that is also seen on Ninja 650, the naked ER-6n and also the cruiser Vulcan S. The engine is slightly detuned to produce a maximum power if 68.1bhp at 8,500rpm and peak torque of 63Nm of peak torque at 6000rpm. The bike should be launched somewhere in the bracket of INR 5 to 6 lakhs. Kawasaki will also be unveiling an all new small capacity motorcycle in the international market by mid-December.
