According to ongoing reports the green machines maker, Kawasaki is planning to launch their middle-weight adventure tourer, the Versys 650 in Indian market on 24th this month. The bike is scheduled to be launched at the Kawasaki’s Navi Mumbai Showroom along with the entire new 2016 range from the Japanese motorcycle firm. The bike is based on the same engine that propels in the Ninja 650R and ER6n that is a 649cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine. The engine produces 69bhp of maximum power at 8500rpm and 64Nm of peak torque at 7000rpm.
The bike shares many components with its 650cc siblings, and that might help Kawasaki to price the bike economically against its rivals. Though there are quite a few contenders in the segment but it is the Benelli TNT GT that stands head to head against the Versys 650. The bike comes equipped with 41mm hydraulic telescopic fork suspensions at the front and single offset laydown shock at the rear. Its rigid body, upright riding position, wide and flat handlebar and high ground clearance makes the bike an over-all outstanding adventure tourer in this range. We expect the bike to be priced around Rs. 6-6.5 Lakh.
