Kawasaki has launched the menacing Z800 street-fighter motorcycle in India. The introduction of Z800 has increased the company’s product portfolio to a total of 7 products on offering in the country. The company introduced the Z800 last year in the international market as a successor of the Z750. The Z800 is a premium naked motorcycle that delivers an uncompromised balance of performance for highways and even light ride and handling for city rides.

Kawasaki has powered the Z800 with inline 4-cylinder DOHC engine that churns out the 113 PS at 10,200 RPM and 93Nm of rotational force at 8000 RPM. Underpinned by steel tubular backbone frame alongwith the 41 mm inverted fork suspension at front and Bottom-Link Uni-Trak at rear, makes the handling of Z800 very decent. The stopping ability comes from the Dual semi-floating 310 mm petal discs at front-end and 250mm single disc at rear. However, the intent to price the Z800 aggressively in India, Kawasaki has removed the electronic ride controls from the India specified model.

The Japanese moto-maker, Kawasaki is following an aggressive approach to capture a considerable share in the premium motorcycle segment in the Indian market. The company commenced bringing in its flagship models to our shores in September last year and surprisingly Kawasaki has introduced 5 premium models since that time in India. The company is focusing on holding 25% share in the premium motorcycle market by year 2015 with an expected sale of 400 CBU models (including ZX 10R, ZX 14R, Ninja Z1000 Ninja 1000 and Z800) this year in India.
