Kia is all set to enter Indian market and the brand is aiming to become a major player within short span. The Korean auto major targets to become affordable premium car brand here and it has cleared that Kia models will be pricier than Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai cars. The car brand says it will focus on offering attractive value proposition with high-quality models at affordable pricing. It will launch different models in different segments ensuring a wide presence in the highly competitive domestic market.
Apart from offering attractive products at affordable pricing, Kia is focusing on the design of the cars as it will help the brand to draw attention of buyers. As the auto manufacturer claims, its cars are stylish and urban and they will grab attention of young generation customers here, who contribute a large chunk of the total car sales in the country.
At the Auto Expo 2018, we have seen what Kia is going to roll out in Indian market. The first model from the brand is going to be an upmarket and stylish SUV that will be built at Kia’s Andhra Pradesh plant. This SUV has been previewed by the Kia SP concept at the Auto expo and it received appreciation from the visitors. Interestingly, this SUV will lock horns with tough and well established rival like Hyundai Creta. Also, the Kia SUV will be underpinned by the same platform as the new Hyundai Creta.
As Kia reveals its strategy, the automaker will first launch a five-seater version of the SUV and if it gets good response, there will be a seven-seater version rolled out in near future. Apart from eye-catching sharp styling, expect the Kia models to come equipped with wide range of premium features and technologies that will help them to catch attention of young buyers. Considering the rising demand for advanced safety features, expect Kia cars to come loaded with them. On the powertrain front too, Kia will make sure its cars are offered with powerful and efficient engine options.
