Kia Motors India is coming up with its second product, the Kia Carnival MPV early next year.
The unveiling of the Kia Carnival has been done at the 2018 Auto Expo in India.
The Auto Expo 2020 will see Kia launching the product officially in India.
The starting price of the vehicle could be around Rs 30 lakhs.
Kia Carnival, already unveiled in the 2018 Auto Expo, had generated tremendous consumer interest at that time. Now, Kia Motors will be officially launching the MPV at the 2020 Auto Expo with some minor tweaks to suit the Indian market.
Many people are not aware that the Kia Carnival is already functional in some international markets with the name Kia Sedona. In India, this MPV can be the ideal competitor to the Toyota Innova Crysta.
The Kia Carnival interiors are spacious enough to convert the vehicle into an 11-seater car, as well. It is a flexible vehicle that can be configured as a 7 or 8-seater if necessary. The Kia Carnival dimensions are 5115mm X 1985mm X 1740mm (LxWxH) with an enormous wheelbase of 3060mm. These dimensions prove that this MPV is bigger than the Toyota Innova Crysta.
The Kia Carnival has the edge over the Toyota Innova Crysta because it features a low-slung construction and has power-operated sliding doors for the second-row seats. Kia plans to introduce multiple variants.
The top-end versions could come with captain chairs, extendable leg rests and chair arms along with a state-of-the-art touchscreen infotainment system with multiple 10.1-inch screens.
The Kia Carnival will feature Kia UVO Connectivity Suite, a couple of sunroofs, and power-adjustable driver seats having memory functions. The top-spec variant should come with three-zone climate control and additional safety kits.
In India, the Kia Carnival will run on BSVI-compliant 2.2L 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel motor capable of delivering a power of 202hp and torque of 441Nm. This engine could mate with a 6-speed automatic transmission system. One can expect a 6-speed manual transmission, as well.
The official confirmation of the launch and booking details will be made public in January next year.
