Kia Seltos SUV had only started creating the much-anticipated buzz that the South Korean auto conglomerate Kia Motors has already announced its second product for the Indian market, and that will be the Carnival MPV. This Kia MPV is already available in certain markets and is sold by the name of Sedona.
Kia Motors has finally made an official confirmation on the MPV’s India launch sometime in the first half of 2020. But before that, Kia will reveal the updated Carnival at the upcoming Indian Auto Expo. The company plans to display a slightly refurbished version of the Carnival MPV at the much-awaited 2020 Auto Expo in India, which will be followed by precise model configuration and product pricing as per the buyer’s expectations.
The India-bound Kia Carnival MPV is expected to come with a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that transfers power to the front wheels. The Kia Carnival MPV’s powertrain generates 202.5bhp of max power at 3,800rpm and 441Nm of peak torque that ranges in the middle of 1,750 to 2,750rpm.
This Kia MPV motor comes paired with a six-speed manual transmission however we can expect that a six-speed automatic gearbox option could possibly be offered as the transmission of choice.
Kia Carnival or the Sedona (as known in some markets) will be sold as a seven-seater MPV and will directly pit against the segment leader - Toyota Innova Crysta.
