Kia Motors India is all set to launch its second product in the form of Carnival MPV in the Indian market. It is expected to launch at the grand stage of the 2020 Auto Expo in February while being priced in a range of Rs 20-25 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India). However, prior to the official launch, Kia Carnival has been spotted testing on the Indian roads.
For those asking, the Carnival MPV is sold in several global markets with 'Sedona' nameplate. Kia Carnival will be offered in multiple seating configurations such as a six-seater, seven-seater, and eight-seater version. The MPV will measure 5115mm in length, 1985mm in width, and 1740mm in height while having a wheelbase of 3060mm.
The South-Korean automaker hasn't made any changes to the dimensions of the MPV and retained them from the international model which makes it nearly 380mm longer and 155mm wider than its arch-rival, the Toyota Innova Crysta. The Indian buyers have already seen the Carnival at the 2018 Auto Expo where it made its first public appearance in the country.
As for the features, Kia Carnival boasts of the company's premium UVO touchscreen infotainment system, multi-zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, extended legroom and 10.1-inch screens for rear-seat passengers and power sliding rear doors, etc. to name a few.
Mechanically, it will be powered by a BS 6 certified 2.2L turbocharged diesel engine which will develop maximum power of 202bhp and peak torque of 441Nm. The engine will be linked to a 6-speed auto transmission.
