Kia seems to be seriously considering the Grand Carnival MPV for the Indian market. As we reported earlier, the Grand Carnival is being considered for the brand’s portfolio for the domestic market alongside the Stonic Crossover. A completely uncamouflaged shiny black coloured Kia Grand Carnival has been spotted in Gurgaon. The MPV was displayed at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo alongside its siblings like Stonic.

In the global market, Kia Grand Carnial is offered in three different seating layout options that are seven-seater, eight-seater and eleven-seater. The India-spec model is expected to be available in seven-seater option only. However, the brand is yet to confirm that. In terms of styling, the Kia Grand Carnival looks very muscular and bold. It boasts large front grille flanked by swept back projector headlamps. There are chunky bumper with integrated skid plates and circular fog lamps at the front one.

Apart from large stylish looking wheels, a very interesting element of the MPV is the sliding rear doors, which is very unusual considering the MPVs available in the country market. Inside the cabin, the Kia Grand Carnival comes with a dual-tone theme. It offers generous space and comfort to the occupants. The MPV gets three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a twin-dial instrument cluster and a large digital MID.

On the powertrain front, Kia Grand Carnivan is available with a 3.3-litre petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. In India, Kia is expected to sell the diesel variant of the car that is capable of churning out 199 bhp of peak power at 3,800 rpm and 441 Nm of peak torque between 1,750 rpm and 2,750 rpm. Transmission duty is done by a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
