Kia has a sub-4-meter SUV in the works.
It will be based on the Hyundai Venue.
It will be displayed at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo.
Targeting a mid-2020 launch.
Kia is lining up a sub-4 meter SUV for the Indian market. Like the sharing of platforms done by the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, the new small Kia will be based on the Hyundai Venue.
This means that it will be powered by the same engines as the Venue, namely, two petrol engines and one diesel engine.
Both manual and automatic transmissions will be made available as well. The chassis, suspension, and interior dimensions will be similar.
The QYI will not look identical to the Venue, although it will share its proportions. It will get more premium treatment, since Kia slots in above Hyundai in the brand pecking order. It will, therefore, have a more aggressive design and more upmarket bits, like all-LED headlamps.
The Kia QYI interior will be a significant upgrade over the Venue, with a large touchscreen that will be a certainty. An AI interface and cloud-based services might make their way to the segment as well with the QYI.
The Kia QYI is expected to be displayed at the Delhi Auto Expo in February 2020 and will go on sale by the middle of the year.
