Mileage figures will range from 16.1 km/l to 21 km/l.
Media activities for Kia Seltos have begun days ahead of its official launch on August 22, 2019. Some prominent details about the model have surfaced ahead of its media drives on August 9, 2019. First introduced as SP2i concept at Auto Expo 2018, the Kia Seltos measures 4,315 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width and stands 1,620 mm tall.
The Kia Seltos range will be available with 8 colour monotone and 5 dual-tone options. Also, the carline will be offered with 16-inch steel wheels as well as 17-inch alloys, depending on the variant. As for mechanicals, the SUV will get BS6 compliant 1.5L petrol and diesel engines along with a 1.4L petrol unit built with Hyundai’s ‘Smartstream’ technology. These engines will be used to power Kia and Hyundai models in future.
As for the transmission, there will be a standard 6-speed manual unit along with a 6-speed auto box and a 7-speed DCT gearbox. In addition to the above options, there will be a CVT petrol unit as well. The claimed mileage for 1.5L MT is 16.5km/l, while the CVT option does 16.8 km/l. The 1.4 turbo unit with DCT is rated at 16.5 km/l and the 6-speed MT at 16.1 km/l. Diesel units are more frugal with the 1.5L MT version claimed to return 21 km/l and the CVT at 18 km/l.

The Kia Seltos SUV is available in two variant lines- HTE, HTK and HTX along with GTE, GTK and GTX with the H trim powered by 1.5L petrol and diesel units, whereas the G grades using the 1.4L turbo petrol. It additionally comes with India-specific tweaks such as a heavy-duty AC, a dual-horn and a country-specific clutch force reduction feature.
