Kia Motors recently unveiled its most anticipated SUV for the Indian market – Kia Seltos, which is based on the SP Concept showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. As of yet, Kia Motors has still not revealed many details about the Seltos SUV. However, we have some more details about the model through a leaked document that tells more about the features to be offered in each variant. The leaked image comes out from a company’s training programme that speaks about the Kia Seltos will be on sale in around eight variants. The base version will be offered as an HTE for the diesel and GTK for the petrol variant, whereas the top-end version for the diesel version would be HTX+ while for the petrol top-end will be named as GTX+. Now, let’s find out what you can expect from each variant of the Kia Seltos SUV.
Kia Seltos HTE
The ‘THE’ base variant will be offered with only 1.5-litre diesel engine connected to a 6-speed MT, while the feature list extends to Dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Front as well as rear skid plates, steering-mounted controls, 4-speaker sound system, shark-fin antenna, follow-me-home headlamps and along with rear AC vents.
Kia Seltos HTK+
The HTK+ variant would come with a 1.5-litre diesel paired to either a 6-speed manual transmission or 6-speed automatic (torque converter). As far the feature list is concerned, it would be offered with projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, LED mood lighting synced with sound effects, push button start stop with smart key, cruise control, electrically foldable outside rearview mirrors, and one-touch up/down driver’s side window.
Kia Seltos HTX
This variant comes with a 1.5-litre diesel mated to a 6-speed manual only and the feature list would include 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display with UVO smart connected solution, wireless charging, 7-inch instrument cluster, leather-wrapped steering wheels, reclining rear seats along with 60:40 split set up, air purifier, TPMS (Tyre pressure monitoring system), LED headlamps with daytime running lights, LED fog lamps and an LED light strip, LED taillamps and second row USB ports.
Kia Seltos HTX+
The Kia Seltos HTX+ would get a 1.5-litre diesel with a 6-speed manual gearbox or 6-speed automatic (torque converter) and as far as the equipment list is concerned, the SUV will come packed with Bose stereo sound system (8-speaker), 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, UV Cut glass, 7-inch instrument cluster, ventilated seats, driver rearview monitor, six airbags, 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, wireless charging, sunroof. The automatic version, on the other hand, will also get multiple drive modes, brake assist, vehicle stability management, electronic stability control (ESC), front parking sensors and blind spot monitor as well.
Kia Seltos GTK
The GTK trim would be offered with either 1.4-litre GDI petrol or a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox only, and the feature list would include LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, LED light strip, LED tail-lamps, Dual Airbags, ABS with EBD, LED mood lighting along with sound effect feature, 17-inch alloy wheels and steering mounted controls and that apart, the automatic version will also come packed with push button start/stop with smart key, Bluetooth stereo, rear reclining seats and Rear AC vents.
Kia Seltos GTX
The Kia Seltos GTX would get 1.5-litre petrol with a 6-speed manual transmission or CVT along with 1.4-litre turbo-petrol mated to a DCT. In terms of features it will come with an 8-inch HUD, a 10.25-inch HD infotainment display with UVO smart connected solution, 7-inch instrument cluster, wireless charging, rain-sensing wipers, climate control, six airbags, air purifier, and the automatic version would also come with multiple drive modes as well as Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Kia Seltos GTX+
The top-end version of the Kia Seltos petrol will come with a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol with 6MT, along with some more features like an 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s side seat, Bose sound system (8-speaker), sunroof, ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
In India, the Kia Sleltos price is expected to range between Rs 11 lakh to Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom) and will compete with the like of the Hyundai Creta, the Renault Captur, Mahindra XUV500, Nissan Kicks and the recently launched MG Hector.
