The Kia Sonet Concept, codenamed as Kia QYI, has a worldwide debut at the Auto Expo. The occasion could not have been better for unveiling the car for the first time. One can expect the Kia Sonet to get an Indian launch sometime in the latter half of the year. The sub-4M Kia Sonet Concept sports a bold design while being distinct from the other Kia SUV models all around the world.
The Kia Sonet Concept reveals an aggressive-looking car with a tiger-nose radiator grille along with the rectangular headlamps. The muscular bumper looks exquisite, especially as it beefs up the middle and lower portions. The vertical side air vents coupled with the red accent and chrome garnish on the lower part of the grill make for a beautiful sight.
While the front fascia reveals an aggressive look, the side view of the Kia Sonnet Concept brings out the funky side of the car. The vehicle comes with assertively high ground clearance and pronounced wheel arches. The door panels and the flush handles add to the elegance of the vehicle. The colour coding on the C-pillar along with the red highlight on the rocker panels gives the vehicle a sporting look.
The rear end of the vehicle is as beautiful as the front fascia. The raked back-glass and the upright tailgate bridges the gap between the traditional and modern SUV look. The wraparound taillamps resemble those available on the Kia Sportage. The Kia Sonet interiors boast of a 10.25-inch touchscreen info system with navigation and Kia’s UVO Connect. The Bose acoustic system makes way for fantastic entertainment. The intelligent Manual Transmission is a welcome addition to its interior features.
The Kia Sonet could share its platform as well as the engine and transmission systems with the Hyundai Venue. We shall know more about the details as the launch date comes closer. However, from the look of it, the vehicle could be a fierce competitor to the Hyundai Venue and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
