Kia’s current logo has been around since 1984.
Will change most probably in 2020.
Coincides with Kia’s push to electric and alternative fuels.
Kia will change its logo after the current one debuted in 1984. The current logo has seen its share of updates, but it has remained essentially the same for three and a half decades. The new logo looks very futuristic and simplistic all at the same time.
It isn’t a 3D logo anymore – just like Volkswagen’s new logo is more simplistic, the new Kia logo is 2D and simplistic to the point of almost not being recognizable. It looks almost like a ribbon laid out to spell the ‘Kia’ name. It will have two color schemes, a black one for regular models and a red one for the sporty models, we assume.
The new logo signifies the next step Kia is trying to make, that of taking its perception higher up the luxury ladder. It recently revamped its styling to make its vehicles look more premium – successfully – and the new logo should help establish its credentials as an electric vehicle and alternative fuel vehicle manufacturer.
The new logo is expected to debut in 2020, and it will change all over the world simultaneously, including in the Indian market.
