The Swedish automaker Koenigsegg has announced that it will start the production of its first approved and road-legal Agera RS for the US market. Meeting the complex and expensive challenge of legally selling cars in the US, this small company, which has built over a 100 cars in a decade, finally has a reason to celebrate.
The company posted on its official website saying that the owners of this car have allowed the company to fully document the build from start to finish. The supercar marque has accepted that the USA has not been a successful market till now, but talking about the process, the brand says that it will be “an epic build story taking place over six months or so.”
The Agera RS, which was revealed at Geneva Motor Show 2015, is limited to only 25 units for the worldwide consumption. After that, the company will start with the production of its new model “Regera.” The orders for both the Agera RS and the Regera are giong to keep the brand factory in Angelholm, Sweden, busy for the next two years.
Just for your knowledge, this 1395 kg Agera RS is powered by a twin-turbo 5.0-litre V8 engine, which churns out 1160 bhp and 1280 Nm peak torque at 4100 rpm. This supercar, in terms of design, features active independent front flaps, optimized front splitter, dynamically-active rear wing and a dynamic underbody flap system.
