The 125 Duke is India-bound. Yes, KTM India is gearing up to bring its youngest streetfighter sibling in the Duke family in two months’ time. It is presently available in European markets and for starters who are learning on motorcycles under the A1 license scheme.
In Europe, it boasts a design similar to the 2017 390 Duke, with its sharp angular lines combined with racy graphics, aggressive overall design and inverted pitchfork LED headlamps.
The KTM 125 Duke will sport the same modern styling like that of the 250 Duke with sharp body panels. It is expected to come in two colours including the traditional KTM orange shade and white. Powering the motorcycle is a 124.7cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor which produces a good 15bhp of power, 12Nm of torque and 15PS of power, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
This KTM baby would most likely be the most powerful 125cc motorcycle, once launched in the market, with hardly any rivals matching up to its level.
With KTM all set to launch its entry-level street smart motorcycle, the 125 Duke in India, the bookings of the motorcycle have already started at dealerships in Mumbai and Pune at a token amount of Rs 1000. The actual price of this KTM Duke motorcycle has not been disclosed as of now, however, it will be priced around Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 lesser than the KTM 200 Duke. Both, the launch and deliveries are anticipated in the month of December.
In order to match the optimum price level in India, the KTM 125 Duke motorcycle might not get colour TFT instrument cluster and the LED headlamps. According to the dealerships, the 125 Duke will get the combi-braking system (CBS) as a safety feature. With regard to pricing, it will compete against the Yamaha YZF R15 V3 and the Yamaha Fazer 25.
