Austria automaker, KTM has launched the 2019 KTM Duke 200 in the Indian two-wheeler market. Priced at Rs 1.6 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Duke 200 bike comes equipped with ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System). It is the most affordable KTM motorcycle currently on sale in India. The ABS system offered in the Duke 200 is sourced from Bosch and is expected to be the same unit that was offered in the previous generation Duke 390. This is likely to be a dual-channel ABS system.
Mechanically, the KTM Duke 200 remains unchanged. It is powered by the same 199.5cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve engine with liquid-cooled technology. This engine is capable of producing 25bhp of power and 19.2Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycle rides on a trellis-frame chassis. For suspension mechanism, the bike gets a 43mm USD front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear. Speaking on the launch of the ABS on the 200 Duke, Amit Nandi, president (Probiking) at Bajaj Auto Ltd said, "With the addition of ABS our customers will now have choice of both ABS and non-ABS versions on the KTM 200 Duke".
The 2019 KTM 200 Duke ABS is available in 3 colors - Orange, White and Black - across all the KTM dealerships. In terms of styling, the bike remains the same. It looks like a scaled-down version of the 1290 Super Duke R. It features LED headlamps, exposed trellis sun-frame, large tank shrouds, LCD instrument cluster, colour TFT unit with GPS data and support for smartphone, LED tail-lights, etc. In terms of proportions, the bike is 2,050mm long, 760mm wide and 810mm tall and has a wheelbase of 1,040mm. The motorcycle comes with a ground clearance of 165mm.
