KTM 390 Adventure Motorcycle Spotted With Official Accessories

Jointly owned by Bajaj Auto, KTM India has finally brought the new version of its 250cc bike equipped with ABS this time. The much-awaited KTM 250 Duke ABS variant offers a dual-channel ABS unit, unlike other KTM naked motorcycles with single-channel ABS unit such as on the 125 Duke and 200 Duke. The addition of ABS has been a part of the recent upgrade campaign among two-wheeler makers, in line with the new safety norms passed by the government as a mandate to be adhered by the Indian automotive industry. The all-new KTM 250 Duke bike with ABS carries a premium amount of Rs 14,000 more than the non-ABS variant.

2019 KTM RC 200 with ABS launched at Rs 1.88 lakhs

The Austrian bike maker had recently introduced the 125 Duke with single-channel ABS unit and the same in the KTM 200 Duke ABS variant. However, the KTM 250 Duke naked motorcycle has been equipped with a switchable ABS unit that can be entirely switched off but there is no option for the rider to disengage ABS only at the rear, which is possible on the KTM 390 Duke Supermoto mode.

The switchable dual-channel ABS allows full disengagement but the KTM Duke 250 doesn’t let the ABS disengage specifically at the rear.

In terms of the mechanical configuration, except for the addition of ABS in the bike, everything else remains the same. The new KTM 250 Duke ABS variant’s 248.8cc liquid-cooled motor is the same as in the non-ABS version which churns an output of 30 HP and 24 Nm and this KTM engine comes paired to a six-speed transmission.
