Austria's bikemaker, KTM will soon introduce an all-new adventure motorcycle based on the Duke 390. The motorcycle has been spotted multiple times while testing on Indian roads. The adventure motorcycle has been spotted again, which shows that the motorcycle will come with a selection of accessories. A heavily camouflaged upcoming 390 Adventure was caught testing with panniers and a top box. Similar to the motorcycle, the luggage accessories were also wrapped in camouflage stickers.
Apart from the luggage carriers, the test mule looks largely identical to the motorcycle that was spotted multiple times on Indian roads. It has been speculated that the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure motorcycle will arrive in 2 versions - alloy wheels and wire-spoked version. The spotted motorcycle was equipped with alloy wheels while the wire-spoke version is yet to arrive for testing on Indian roads. The wire-spoke version was caught testing in Europe.
While the alloy wheel version will focus more on touring purpose, while the more rugged option is expected to target enthusiasts. Similar to the bigger Adventure tourer, KTM could offer two variants of the bike - the 390 Adventure and the 390 Adventure R. The R version is expected to be equipped with wire-spoke wheels and a metal bash-plate. The standard model will ride on alloy wheels and will feature a fibre engine cowl.
The KTM 390 Adventure will be based on a trellis frame with a bolted sub-frame. Some of the design features will include split styled LED headlights, LED blinkers and a LED tail-light. The vehicle will get a compact windscreen as standard, while a taller windscreen is expected to be offered as an option. It will receive a full digital instrument console, which will be sourced from the 390 Duke. This model could receive turn-by-turn navigation system.
The spotted model rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, shod with dual-purpose, knobby tyres. The upcoming KTM 390 ADV will be powered by the 373.2cc, single-cylinder, DOHC, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine. While powering the Duke 390 and RC390, this engine produces 43.5bhp of power at 9,500rpm and 35Nm of torque at 7,250rpm. KTM could tune this engine for more torque.
