KTM Duke 800 spotted; India launch in 2017
Snapshot: KTM Duke 800 will rival against the likes of Kawasaki Z800, Triumph Street Triple and Honda CBR650F.
The upcoming latest edition to KTM’s Duke line-up, the Duke 800 has been recently spotted testing in Europe ahead of its official launch somewhere in 2017 in India. This 800cc motorcycle will be positioned above Duke 690 and will be the smallest motorcycle from Company’s product portfolio to receive twin-cylinder engine.
As shown in the image, the new KTM Duke 800 will come equipped with alloy swing arm, upswept exhaust system, KTM Duke series conventional headlamps, split seats, upside down forks, double disc at front and single disc at rear, a small visor mounted on top and radical angular styling typical of the Duke range. Currently, there is no information available about the power output of this motorcycle, but it will definitely produce more than 75 bhp when compared to Duke 690.
KTM CEO Stefan Pierer has already announced that this 800cc motorcycle will be manufactured in India, like the Duke 125, 250 and 390. Since it will be manufactured locally, it will help the Company to put a lucrative price tag on the bike making it the most affordable 800cc motorcycle in the country.
