- KTM RC 125 will be powered by the motor that also propels the 125 Duke
- The sports bike is expected to get the same equipment like the 125 Duke
- The RC 125 does the 0-60 kmph speed sprint in 5.4 seconds
KTM will launch the RC 125 in the third week of June 2019 and will begin the deliveries by July. The Austrian motorcycle manufacturer launched the naked roadster 125 Duke which got appreciated by the Indian market. This also paved the way for KTM RC 125 launch. The fully-faired motorcycle's Indian version will be a bit different from the International-spec of RC125. The manufacturer would price the RC 125 competitively.
The RC 125 was recently spotted prowling the Indian roads. The spy shots showcased a near production ready model of the motorcycle. Speaking of the changes that bike will receive include an underbelly exhaust instead of the side-slung exhaust muffler seen on the international-spec model, a saree guard and a secondary/rear mudguard. The appearance of the RC 125 remains the same to the KTM RC 200 - twin-headlamp unit, chiselled fuel-tank and side fairings.
The KTM RC 125 will be powered by the same motor that is also seen on the KTM 125 Duke. The single-cylinder, liquid-cooled 124.7 CC DOHC motor on the 125 Duke churns out 14 bhp of max power at 9,250 rpm and 12 Nm of max torque at 8,000 rpm. The motor is linked to a 6-speed gearbox and it goes from 0 to 60 kmph in 5.4 seconds. The suspension duties on the 125 Duke is carried by a 47mm USD forks at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. It also gets a single-channel ABS. These specifications might make their way on the KTM RC 125 as well.
The fully-faired RC 125 will be priced around Rs 1.30 lakh to Rs 1.45 lakh. The pricing of RC 125 will be crucial as the more powered and popular Yamaha R15 is priced at Rs 1.39 lakh. The Austrian brand would like to price the RC 125 lower than the R15 to give it a tough competition.
