The renowned two-wheeler manufacturer, KTM has issued a recall for its 690 Duke and 690 Duke R models globally. The recall is for all the models manufactured during the period of 2016 over the possible fuel leak issues.

According to KTM, the gasket in the fuel tank filler neck could ostensibly lead to fuel leaking in some of the models, which probed it to announce a recall. KTM will soon commence notifying owners of the affected batch of KTM 690 Duke and the 690 Duke R. To prevent fuel leak in the affected bikes, KTM will replace the gasket and the filler neck free of cost, which would hardly take an hour to finish.

The KTM Duke is powered by a 690cc, single-cylinder engine which puts out maximum power of 72bhp along with peak torque of 75Nm. Transmission duties on the prowess are carried out by a six-speed gearbox. As for its India line-up, the bikemaker sell a handful of models including the 200 Duke, 250 Duke and the 390 Duke. In addition to these models, KTM also offers RC 200 and RC390 in India.

The bike segment has seen tremendous growth in the past few years and while more brands are venturing into the Indian bike segment, the performance bike space, which primarily includes 400cc to 1000cc motorcycles, is yet to get its due. Thankfully, bikemakers are foraying in this segment with new entrants being launched every now and then.
