Remember our story on KTM X-BOW GTR few months ago when the car was teased? KTM, the famous Austrian motorcycle manufacturer is known for X-BOW car also, which is now set to get a GT4 inspired design. Made in collaboration with REITER Engineering, the company has just previewed the car for the very fist time.
Designed for GT4 competitions, the X-BOW GTR will be available on order from April at a starting price of $157,300. Not much of the specifications are revealed for the KTM X-BOW GTR but Reiter Engineering owner Hans Reiter says that the X-BOW GTR "features the most advanced racing technology, which is normally only the case in higher categories. And in matters of safety, the monocoque technology offers the most unique protection ever in this class up to this point in time."
KTM has revealed that many customer teams have already expressed their interest in the X-BOW GTR which will be eligible to participate in European GT4 Series as well as the Pirelli World Challenge Championships. But KTM and REITER has decided to conduct the first roll-out this month, followed by SRO Balance of Performance test in March before opening the bookings.
Hans says, “First of all I have to compliment all those who have been involved at KISKA, at KTM Technologies and the KTM Sportcar GmbH who have all worked without a break, just as my own people have really done a perfect job in the shortest possible time. We are now in the end phase and if we can keep almost exactly to our self imposed, extremely tight schedule, it is looking good. In keeping with this program, the first tests are planned in mid to late February.”
