Kumho-Shod Auto GP Series : Narain Karthikeyan wins at Silverstone

Track racing as a sport holds a special place in the hearts of adventure seekers who get their thrills by watching the drivers zoom past in their cars and take dangerous turns coolly as they try to take the lead.  Narain Karthikeyan is a formula one racing driver who has taken part in formula one races for a number of years. With his impressive personality, good looks and cool demeanor he is a role model for the younger generation of Indians who prefer adventure to more sedate life. 

The fans would be thrilled to know that their hero has won a race at ‘Silver Grand Prix circuit’.  This circuit is famous for its twists and turns which are extremely dangerous and many drivers have come to grief by trying to get in front.  ‘Narain Karthikeyan’ and  ‘Kimiya Sato’ from Japan scored a victory in the 4th race of the ‘Auto GP series’. The tires for this race were made by ‘Kumho’, the Korean based tire making company.  Their policy is to use ‘two compounds’   to make their tires which are entirely ‘different’ from each other and during the race both needs to tested and used. 

In this race the new driver ‘Kevin Giovesi’ actually took the first place; however, he made the mistake of stopping at a wrong place for his ‘pit stop’ and was give the thirteenth place for this mistake. Karthikeyan is part of the famous ‘Super Nova’ group. This group is international and has a base in the East of England at ‘Norfolk’.  After winning this event Karthikeyan has gained an important place in the team he has joined recently. He said he is very happy that he had won this race because ‘Silverstone’ track is tough and it is a great achievement for any driver to win a race here.  He praised the tires supplied by ‘Kumho’ and said they gave ‘consistent’ performance.
