Ferrai's limited production hybrid sports car LaFerrari would be on display at the seventh edition of Parx Super Car Show in Mumbai on January 11, 2015. It is being hosted by business tycoon and race car driver Gautam Singhania, who is also the chairman of the Super Car Club. All the supercars, including the LaFerrari, would also be showcased at RWITC Race Course, Turf Club, Mahalaxmi on January 10, a day prior to the Super Car Show.
"There are only 499 of these cars produced in the world and this is the first one in India," says Singhania excitedly. The car has been sent by Ferrari from Italy to India only for this year's Super Car Parade, and it would go back to Italy next week. Certainly a one-off car, it has a 6.3L V12 motor which pumps out a maximum power of 789 bhp. Apart from this massive engine, it has an electric motor with 161 bhp top power. So, with a combined power output of 950 bhp, it does the 0-100kmph in sub-3 seconds, while the 0-350kmph in just 15 seconds of time.
There would be superbikes on display as well, apart from the cars. "There is an increasing interest from avid bikers this year," says Raymond Group, Head Honcho, Gautam Singhania. However, despite so many superbikes and supercars, the show-stopper would be the LaFerrai hybrid sportscar. On Sunday, the fleet of supercars will take on the streets of Mumbai as they would zoom through areas like the Bandra-Worli sea link, Worli sea front, Haji Ali, Peddar Road, Marine Drive and Nariman Point, among others.
The show would also see some top-notch cars from several high-end luxury brands such as Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Rolls-Royce etc. to name a few.
