Lamborghini, the Italian sports car manufacturer, has launched the Huracan Performante at a sticker price of Rs. 3.97 Crores (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. Having its world premiere at the 2017 Gevena Motor Show last month, the Lamborghini Huracan Performante has arrived at the Indian shores within one month of its global debut. It is the company's third launch in the Indian market in 2017 as it had earlier introduced the Huracan Sypder RWD and Aventador S in February and March, respectively.
Underpinning a hybrid aluminium and carbon fiber architecture, the Huracan Performante comes with lightweight technologies, while the body shell is developed using aluminium in conjunction with Forged Composite. The use of Forged Composite subsequently results in the lightweight structure of the sports car. The Forged Composite is also used in several structural components including front and rear spoiler, the engine bonnet, rear bumper and aerodynamic diffuser, resulting in reduction of sports car's weight by 40 kgs. Just so you know, it also holds the record for the fastest Nürburgring production car lap with a time of 6min 52.01s, beating Porsche 918 Spyder by just 5 seconds.
The Huracan Performante is by far the most powerful derivative in the entire Huracan range. The sportscar is powered by a 5.2L V10 engine which develops maximum power of 640bhp and peak torque of 600Nm, which is nearly 30bhp and 40Nm more than the standard Huracan AWD. The powered is transmitted to all the four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission enroute a Haldex permanent four-wheel-drive system. The sports car touches the 100kmph mark from standstill in merely 2.9 seconds - 0.3 seconds quicker than the standard AWD version of Huracan - while clocking an electronically limited top speed of 325kmph. It rides on 20-inch alloy wheels with specially developed Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres at the helm of affairs.
