Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A has officially revealed the much awaited Lamborghini Gallardo successor, Huracan LP 610-4. According to the Italian carmaker, the brand new Huracan Lamborghini is not only presenting the successor to the iconic Gallardo, but is also redefining the benchmark for luxury super sports cars in this segment.
Like most other Lamborghini models, Huracan also derives its name from the world of bullfighting. Named after the Spanish fighting bull 0f 1879, Huracan was known for his outstanding courage and strong sense of attack.
The Huracan is powered by the same 5.2 liter V10 engine founder under the Gallardo. However, the new 'Iniezione Diretta Stratificata' (IDS), Lamborghini's way to direct and indirect gasoline injections results in more power and torque with lower fuel consumption and emissions compared with the Gallardo. Huracan delivers a maximum power of 610bhp @ 8,250rpm and peak torque of 560Nm @ 6,500rpm. With the the top whack of 325kmph, the supercar accelerates from zero to 100kmph in just 3.2 seconds, and to 200kmph in 9.9 seconds.
The Huracan delivers 12.5 L per 100 km which counts 8 kms per litre fuel, and emits 290 g/km of CO2, complies with EU6 emission norms. The Stop/Start technology comes as a standard feature with the Italian masterpiece.
Made from specially designed hybrid chassis combining an integrated structure of carbon and aluminum, this italian supercar weighs just 1,422 kgs.
The Huracan will make its public debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show followed by its launch after few weeks, with deliveries commencing from spring 2014.
