Lamborghini, the Italian supercar maker, has announced the launch of Huracan Spyder LP 610-4 on May 5, 2016 in India. The company's dealership in Delhi had posted a teaser of the supercar on its Facebook page in December last year. For those asking, the open-top supercar had its world premiere at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. In addition, Lamborghini would also be inaugurating a new showroom in Mumbai on May 5, where the Huracan Spyder would be launched.
Lamborghini Huracan Spyder gets a carbon and aluminum structure with a soft top that opens and closes in 18 seconds upto the speeds of 50kmph. Weighing a mere 1542 kgs, it is powered by the naturally-aspirated 5.2L V10 petrol engine which unleashes 602bhp of massive power and 560Nm of peak torque. It is linked to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, which transmits the power to all the four wheels via an all-wheel-drive system. It also comes with a drive selector mode with three modes on offer: Strada, Sport and Corsa. The supercar touches the 100kmph mark from standstill in just 3.4 seconds, while clocking a top speed of 324kmph.
The Huracan Spyder also boasts of ‘cylinder-on-demand’ function and ‘stop-start’ system. The Huracan Spyder is identical to the Huracan coupe, except for the roof. The coupe is priced at Rs. 3.43 Crores (Ex. Showroom, India) and the convertible variant is expected to be priced even higher. Lamborghini Huracan Spyder is at loggerheads with Ferrari 488 Spider, which was launched in February this year at Rs. 3.88 Crores (Ex. Showroom) in India.
