Lamborghini currently has a two-model lineup, but from time to time they come out with a limited-run bonkers model such as the Reventon, Veneno, Sesto Elemento and others which are all offered at an exorbitant price tag. It seems a new similar model is in the works and will apparently be exhibited at this year’s edition of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance which will take place next month.
Details about the car are limited at this point but it is believed Lamborghini will only show it to potential customers during a private presentation which means it won’t be available for the general audience gathered at the event. It will apparently be based on the Aventador Superveloce but with an upgraded version of the V12 6.5-liter naturally aspirated engine that will develop around 800 bhp, thus making it 50 bhp more powerful than the standard car.
Lamborghini has plans to build only 30 units of this mysterious model and 20 of them will be coupes while the other 10 will take the shape of a roadster. Needless to say, it won’t come cheap as the price tag is believed to stand at more than $1 million to match the marque’s prestige and the limited availability.
We don’t know how fast it will be, but this new Lamborghini hypercar should prove to be a little bit quicker than the standard Aventador SV which needs 2.8 seconds for the 0-100 kmph sprint and can reach a top speed of more than 350 kmph.
Also at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the gathered crowd will be able to check out a roadster version of the Aventador SV and apparently only 500 units will ever be made whereas the coupe – which has already been sold out - is being built in a limited series of 600 cars. The open-top hardcore Lamborghini will obviously be more expensive than its fixed roof sibling and should offer roughly the same performances.
