It’s quite a long since Lamborghini announced their first ever SUV. The first concept model was showcased at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show and it has been more than half a decade since then. The company is now gearing for the mega release of this most anticipated car in December this year.
Lamborghini, the Italian automaker, will reveal the complete production-ready version of the Urus on December 4 with a grand event at Sant’Agata Bolognese. The chosen time for this showcase event is also a very interesting one. The event (scheduled for the 4th of December) is just a few days after the conclusion of the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show. This, indeed, shows how the company, not chasing for a slot in the event, is trying to a modern approach and hosting an event of its own.
The Lamborghini is not just a luxury SUV covered under the thick coat of hefty price. Instead, it is, as the company calls it, the first ever Super SUV in the making. Of course, it will be the fastest and the most powerful SUV ever made. We also know by now that the Urus SUV will be powered by a V8, twin turbo engine under the hood which will be capable of making a maximum power of around 650 bhp long with a highest torque of over 800 Nm. Moreover, a plug-in hybrid is also expected to follow soon after.
The Lamborghini Urus is not just an outright powered off-roader. Instead, it will be more like a sane but mean machine that will be an over-the-top substitute for the Porsche Cayenne and the BMW X5 M.
Be it at the Los Angeles Auto Show or the unveiling event at Sant’Agata Bolognese on December 4, either way, we will still be waiting with bated breath for first ever Lamborghini SUV to get its production-ready form.
