Jaguar Land Rover India has launched the locally manufactured Range Rover Velar at Rs. 72.47 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Bookings of the luxury SUV are now open and JLR will commence the deliveries from early May 2019. Earlier, the Velar was made available in the Indian market as a CBU. The Range Rover Velar is available in one trim with petrol and diesel motor options.

The R-Dynamic S variant is offered with 2.0-litre petrol that makes 247 bhp and 365 Nm of torque and a 2.0-litre diesel that churns out 178 bhp and 430 Nm of torque. The Range Rover Velar is an epitome of luxury, technology, progressive design and comfort as it comes with TouchPro Duo, Activity Key, Meridian Sound System, Wi-Fi and Pro Services, Four Zone Climate Control, Premium leather interiors, and Cabin Air Ionization.

Other features include R-Dynamic exterior pack, premium LED headlamps, LED DRLs, Adaptive Dynamics and park assist. The key rivals of Range Rover Velar are Jaguar F-Pace, Mercedes GLE Coupe and BMW X6. Luxury car brands are now focusing on the localization of their products to tighten the competition.
