Ever since the reports of an upcoming all new band of commuters from Bajaj Auto combined with the news that Bajaj has used the scrapped metal from the Iconic INS Vikrant, India's first ever Aircraft Carrier, the whole of India has been waiting for this day to arrive. The hugely talked about, Bajaj 'V' is launching today. And, as is rumoured, the bike that is going to be launched today will be called as 'Bajaj Valor'.
In a teaser released by Bajaj Auto on the 67th Republic Day, it was said that this upcoming bike has been built while using the scrap metal form INS Vikrant and to showcase it, the bike will come with a logo celebrating the same fact. From the teaser video, it was evident that this bike will be a executive motorcycle, relating to the rumours of it being a 150cc commuter. However, unlike the current crop of commuters, this bike harks back to the times of the round headlamp designs and seems to be inspired by the Cafe Racer sort of styling.
From the screenshots of the video below, it is evident that the bike has a slender tank, a kick starter, five twin-spoke alloy wheels, a long single seat, low seat height, telescopic fork upfront while a twin spring suspension setup does duty at the back.
As per the reports, the 'Bajaj Valor' will house a 150cc single cylinder unit from the Discover range and might be slightly more tuned towards economy more than performance thus expected to arrive with lesser outputs than the Discover 150's 14.5Ps and 12.75Nm torque rating. It is also rumoured that there will be a 125cc model also added to this new commuter range from Bajaj this year. Today's launch of the Bajaj Valor will mark the first launch of Bajaj Auto in 2016 and thus, kick starts the Pune based motorcycle major's year.
