News has come that Audi’s model ‘R18 e-tron’ came first in the race for hybrid and a four wheel vehicle (quattro) at Le Mans for the second time. Three Audi ‘R18 e-tron’ car were driven by three drivers, ‘Loc Duval’ from France, ‘Tom Kristensen’ from Denmark and ‘Allan McNish’ from Great Britian. The race track was extremely hard and the competition was very stiff, more so because three Audi cars were doing only only two laps after filling up one tank unlike their rivals Toyota. To conteract the numerous ‘pit stops’ they had to drive faster and complete the ‘laps’ in shorter time.To add to the difficulties faced by the participants the weather conditions were worst as it was raining incessantly and very hard. They were many incidents when the safety vehicles had to be called for assistance.
Three vehicles’R16 e-tron quattro’ belonging to Audi cars were some of the very fast cars on the track. ‘Quattro’ is the name by Audi to the four wheel drive cars.The models were equipped with the ‘frontal axel’ which were powered by electricity. ‘Michelin green X challenge’ was also won by ‘Ingolstadt’ and ‘Neckarslum’ for the ‘prototypes’ for cleaner, faster and more ‘efficient’ models. The ‘Chairman’ of Audi thanked the team, the engineers who developed the model for their dedication andshowed their belief in the innovative technology. He also praised the expertise and nerves of the three drivers. He said that the future customers would get benefit from the innovative technology. He said the ‘hybrid system’ along with the new technology was responsible for winning the race. The model had raditators with added qualities. The headlights and other lights had ‘Matrix beam’ and this also helped the teams to win the race. The winning Audi was driven by Duva, who started from ‘pole position’. Audi management is pleased that their models managed to win this very prestigious and difficult race yet again.
