The luxury brand of the Toyota Motor Corporation, Lexus, on Thursday announced some changes in its top management for its operations in India. The rejigs made inside the company are in accordance with the company’s current position in the country, which is not in a great condition right now.
In a press release, the company stated that N Raja is the newly appointed Chairman of Lexus India. The President post is taken over by PB Venugopal, while Tadashi Sakamoto took over the post of Executive Vice-President in the company. Besides all these changes, Arun Nair continues to serve as the Vice-President of the company. The changes have been made effective from 2nd January 2018.
Earlier to this, Toyota Kirloskar Motor had announced a restructuring in the company, which was made effective from 1st January 2018. The major change was the promotion of N Raja as the company’s Deputy Managing Director (subject to board approval). N Raja has been with the company for the last five years and the position gained by him also comprises the functioning of the Sales and Service departments. He has also served as a Senior Vice-President and Director in the Sales & Marketing department in the company.
Apart from this, Raju B. Ketkale, who has an experience of over two decades in the field of automobiles, gets elevated to the director profile. The responsibility for Product Design & Development and Quality Assurance comes under him from now. Ketkale has previously served as the senior Vice-president of the Manufacturing department in Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
Another crucial change made in the Indian Management Executive team, which functions at the global level, is the promotion of Sudeep S. Dalvi, who now gets a larger role at the Toyota Affiliates in the US.
Currently, Lexus sales NX 300h, ES 300h, RX 450h, LX 450d in the Indian market and is looking to consolidate its position in the competitive Indian market with a stronger management team.
