It was back on 18th January, 1919, when Mr W.O Bentley founded the company that bears his name and which, is known today as one of the finest luxury car brand in the world. To commemorate the milestone, Bentley has announced a new special edition model based on its flagship Mulsanne sedan. Only 15 examples of the model will be built and sold in the UK.
The Limited Edition Mulsanne 95 has been developed by Bentley’s Mulliner personalisation department and will be offered in a total of three colour options: Britannia Blue, Empire Red and Oxford White - to celebrate Bentley’s British origin. Exterior touches on the Mulsanne 95 includes, a bespoke black finish to the firm’s Flying B mascot, as well as the car’s 21-inch five-spoke alloy wheels.
On the inside, the Mulsanne 95 features new illuminated tread-plates featuring the bespoke ‘Ninety Five’ script, which along with the Union flag compliment a distinctive 95 emblem that has been embroidered onto the front and rear seats. Owners will also be met with luxurious wood veneers and leather hides for which the brand is well renowned. The wood, which encompasses the entire interior, has been derived from a walnut tree that is more than 300 years old and which, fell during a storm several years ago. Its complex pattern displays a rare rippled effect, which sweeps through the cabin.
Mechanically, there are no changes made, which means that the Mulsanne 95 will come fitted with the same signature twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre, V8 engine that is rated at 512PS of max power and a colossal 1010Nm of peak torque. With these numbers the 0 to 100 kmph run is achieved in 5.3 seconds with a top speed of 296 kmph.
