Buggati has unveiled its new hypercar, Divo at the Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance. Interestingly, it is based on the Chiron and is claimed to faster than its donor car. The new Bugatti Divo is a limited edition hypercar with just 40 units available for sale globally. While it surpasses Chiron in terms of speed, the new Bugatti Divo is credited with the most expensive car on sale currently with a lofty price tag of GBP 4.5 million (approximately) which equates to Rs 4.03 crore.
Sporting a modified chassis, improved aerodynamics and customized exterior styling, the new Divo is one hell of a hypercar that money can buy. With these changes, the Divo is claimed to surpass Chiron’s lap time around the Nardo handling circuit by 8 seconds. The new hypercar has been described as the modern interpretation of Bugatti’s coachbuilding division and has been named after two-time Targo Florio winner Albert Divo. Aesthetically, it receives copious changes with most of the redesigning done to the front. That said, the front now features a large splitter that aide downforce and allows passage of air through the wider intakes.
In addition, it also receives vertically aligned headlamps with LED units. The host of new inlets across the bonnet and wings help improve brake and powertrain cooling. Moreover, the aerodynamically tweaked roof makes space for an air duct on the roof which improves flow of air through a specially designed engine cover. At the back is the new height adjustable spoiler which is claimed to be 23 per cent wider than Chiron’s, though it functions similar to the one seen on its sibling which is meant for air braking. One of the highlights at the back is the new rea lights made of 3D printed fins.
With the aforementioned changes to the exterior, the downforce improves by 90 kg that further maximises lateral cornering forces to 1.6g. The chassis fine-tuning makes Divo more responsive in the bends as compared to Chiron and increased chamber improves handling, resulting in an increased top-speed of 380 km/h. Bugatti has also made changes to the steering and suspension. The new lightweight wheels, carbon fibre parts and reduced insulation contribute to 35 kg reduction in weight.
