It hurts to see a car tangled in an accident and the intensity of the pain increases manifold when that car is a million dollar piece of art. Now think of a car which is already limited in numbers and then you see images of her in pieces, that too from your neighboring country. The same happened recently when a Porsche 918 Spyder sustained significant damages after being involved in a serious crash in China.
According to the local media news, the Porsche 918 Spyder was being driven by a woman and above the speed limits of the narrow roads of Shanghai. The passenger of the car informed police that the lady mixed up the brake pedal with the acceleration pedal, which led to the car hitting the a tree from the right side, damaging it completely.
No serious injuries were sustained by both the driver and passenger and none was injured on the sidewalks as it was early hours of the morning. This is not the first time Porsche 918 met with an accident. A few months ago, another 918 caught fire in Canada. Porsche will only be building 918 units of this car, 2 out of which are history. Though this one is repairable, but it won't come cheap at all.
A new Spyder 918 cost around $ 2.2 million in China and the repairs are famously expensive. The 918 is powered by a hybrid drive train, good for 887 hp and 1275 nm.
