Many commentators, pundits, as well as former and current riders including Ben Spies, Andrea Dovizioso and Nicky Hayden, consider Casey Stoner to be the fastest and most talented rider to have ever raced a motorcycle. The Man known for "Throttle Control Wrist" and his superhuman talent when it came to riding a GP machine beyond belief.
After declaring his shocking retirement from Moto GP, Casey has been testing for Honda and has been helping them to develop their GP machines. Honda had pulled of a coup of sorts when they hired Casey to help them develop their GP racers. Casey can take the bike to limits where probably no other rider can possibly ride to, making it easier for Honda to continue making the best bike on the paddock even better, year on year.
Commencing the test on Wednesday at the Twin Ring circuit Stoner rode next year’s Honda prototype evolution with Bridgestone tyres. On Thursday the test will continue with the Australian rider set to ride the machine again, but using Michelin tyres.
Speaking to GPOne.com Repsol Honda’s Team Principal Livio Suppo said, “As planned Casey is riding the 2015 RC213V. As we said earlier in the year the test has been organised with him after we lost some test time last year due to bad weather. So we’ve put together this two-day test, but for now there is no other test program planned. We prefer to take a day-by-day approach.”
Now, If only Casey returns to Gran Prix, at least he can do 2-3 wild card races in a year (Philip Island is a must) and it will give Marquez the youngest winner of the Premier Class World Championship, something to fight to. We are keeping our fingers crossed. Come on Casey!!!
