While we Indians are still waiting for the newest 250cc offering from the Yamaha, R25, reports and spy shots taken suggests that the Yamaha is already testing a street fighter version of the R25 and can be christened as Yamaha M25. The Yamaha R25 is one of the most talked about 250cc motorcycle in the country nowadays and we reporteded few days back that, how it is doing extremely well in South Asian countries like Indonesia.

The images clearly show the Yamaha R25 been making test rounds along with a naked bike which is believed to be MT25. Yamaha already launched MT125 for the global markets earlier this year, amplifying the speculations for a 250cc motorcycle also. If launched in India, it will be an ideal motorcycle for a competitive segment, with the likes of KTM Duke 390, Honda CBR300R and many more, like TVS and Hero to jump the wagon soon.

Looking by the design and taking cue from MT125, we can say the MT25 will be inspired from liter class naked bike, MT01. The bike will have the same engine as Yamaha R25 with 249cc engine producing 36 PS and 22.6 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed transmission. A single handlebar will be used for supporting the seating position which will be more upright for agility in the city conditions. Currently the R25 is sporting a clip on handlebar. Thee naked R25 will look almost similar to the MT01 with a single headlight in the front.

Yamaha R25 is still to make its way to Indian markets and the rumors are for the late 2014. We have to see when MT25 will make its global debut and then, will it ever make it to Indian shores. But one thing is quite clear, if it ever makes the way here, it will be accepted exceptionally well by the bike aficionados looking how FZ series performed here.
