According to a report from the Detroit Free Press, BMW revealed the M4 concept at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on Thursday. The car is likely to be showcased during the Detroit Auto Show or in the Geneva auto show during March, 2014. The M4 Coupe will reinstate the older M3 Coupe.
The M4 is a two door car with optimized high performance. The M3 Coupe will be converted into four door sedan and both M4 and M3 will be on sale during the end of 2014. The engine specifications are not still revealed but it is more likely that the company will go with the 3 liter turbocharged six cylinder engine. The car will probably use the twin turbo setup to give an output power of 450hp. The Torque generated by the engine will be about 651 NM which is 107 NM more than the M3. The vehicle will have the capacity to cover 100 Kmph in 4.5 Sec and top speed of the car is 250 Kmph. The rear wheels of the car get the power from the 7 speed gearbox which will be available in all the future cars as well.
The M4 will be using an extensive weight saved design with a carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CPRF) roof. The use of carbon fiber in BMW i3, i8 models and their success will influence upon the exterior of the M4. The use of CPRF will make the car lighter and will lower the center of gravity. The concept of the M4 shows about the design of the rear diffuser, front splitter, and tailpipe sleeves which will also be done with the carbon fiber. BMW M4 skinned with Aurum Dust color shows the dynamism, agility and top performance BMW is known for. The large air inlets in the front and its sporty design will make a viewer get carried away.
